IGNOU POST GRADUATE DIPLOMA IN RURAL DEVELOPMENT (PGDRD)

IGNOU PGDRD syllabus and course structure : For January and July admission cycle each year, the university invited applications from eligible students for online admission to diploma programme, their name is Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Development. The short form of Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Development is PGDRD. This discipline comes under School of Continuing Education (SOCE). Students who wants to take online admission in pgdrd discipline can take in any one of admission cycle. Students who have completed PGDRD (Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Development) diploma programmes can apply to take admission in Master of Arts in Rural Development (MARD) are entitled for credit transfer except RDD5. The discipline is offered in both Jan and July admission cycle. To get PGDRD diploma degree, the students needs to passed all subjects in minimum 1 years and maximum 4 years. The discipline provides comprehensive knowledge of socio-economic factors affecting the transformation of rural society. The Programme also introduces the learner to the basic aspects of research and project-work. The Project Work provides its learners an opportunity to study rural development problems, which enables them to develop necessary skills to undertake research work in rural development. The other details about the PGDRD programme are as follows :

Eligibility Criteria : the students should have Bachelor’s Degree
Medium of Instruction : The medium is in both English & Hindi
Duration : To complete Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Development diploma discipline, the university provides duration minimum 1 years and maximum 4 years to students. Interested candidates can take admission in both admission cycle i.e Jan and July
Fee Structure : For full programme, the total fee structure is Rs. 2,000/ during admission or registration process

IGNOU PGDRD Courses & Syllabus Details : The PGDRD discipline consists of total of 5 courses where 1 credit is equivalent to 30 study hours. Each subject course have 6 credits. There are 3 compulsory course i.e MRD-101, MRD-102 and MRD-103 which have 6 credits each and 3 Optional Course whom students needs to choose any one. There is one project work i.e RDD-5 (Project work) which have 6 credits. The total credits of pgdrd diploma discipline is 30. Note-Assignment Submission For July session, you need to submit the assignments by March 31, and for January session by September 30, for being eligible to appear in the term-end examination. Assignments should be submitted to the Coordinator of your Study Centre. carry a receipt from the Study Centre after submission.
